W400 — combined wind & rain weather station

A single roof-mounted unit that delivers both wind speed monitoring and rain detection to the O Range AOV panel — replacing separate WS400 and RS 400 devices with one sensor, one wiring run, and full weather-responsive ventilator control.

What it does

The W400 combines anemometer-based wind sensing and an integrated rain detection element in a single roof-mounted housing. When wind speed exceeds the configured threshold — or rain is detected on the sensor surface — the unit signals the O Range panel to close any open ventilators, protecting actuators and the building fabric from weather stress and water ingress.

Once conditions return to normal, the panel reopens the ventilators automatically. Every weather-close event is logged on the O Range panel for the Golden Thread audit trail.

Who it’s for

Specified on all new O Range SHEVS installations where comprehensive weather protection is required. It is the preferred upgrade over separate wind and rain sensors for M&E designers, SHEVS installers and building services engineers who want to minimise roof penetrations and simplify commissioning while delivering full weather-responsive AOV control.

Integration

Connects to the wind and rain sensor inputs on the O Range control panel via a single cable. Configuration is handled through O Range Connect, where setpoints, dwell times and the affected zones are mapped against the unit.
