Ventec SCD LDN Smoke Control Damper

A flush-fit, two-part lobby damper for smoke shafts and pressurisation systems in multi-storey residential and commercial buildings — available in 0.6m², 1m² and bespoke sizes manufactured to order.

When bespoke SCD LDN is needed

Pressurisation system designs to BS EN 12101-6 produce specific required damper aperture sizes based on the building height, floor area and occupancy. Where existing builder’s apertures are non-standard, or where the pressure differential design requires an intermediate GFA, a bespoke SCD LDN ensures compliance without requiring structural alterations. Particularly common on refurbishment projects where apertures are already formed in existing construction.

How it works

The main sleeved damper carries a peripheral flange and fits flush into the builder’s aperture. A 24V power-open / power-closed actuator drives the damper blades from the normal-closed position to fully open on demand from the AOV control panel. Internal surfaces are spray-painted matt black so the unit reads as a clean dark interior behind the supplied aesthetic grille — no visible mechanical clutter in occupied lobbies.
