5 filesThe next generation of smoke control
An addressable, networkable, intelligent smoke ventilation control platform — engineered for the Building Safety Act 2022, BS EN 12101-10:2005 and the realities of modern higher-risk buildings. Smart : Secure : Verified.
A control panel built for the way buildings work today
The O Range is an addressable, networkable smoke ventilation control panel designed by Ventec — the same UK engineering team behind the OSTRO, LAM, RSL-R and 400 Series — for residential blocks, mixed-use schemes and commercial buildings of every height.
Unlike legacy AOV panels, every component on the system bus is uniquely addressed, allowing the panel to identify, monitor and isolate individual zones, actuators and detectors in real time. The system runs independently — no master controller required — and scales seamlessly from a single stair to 60 networked zones.
Designed and assembled in Poole, Dorset. Stocked for next-day UK delivery, backed by 24/7 technical support from the team that built it.
Golden Thread & Building Safety Act ready
Higher-risk buildings under the Building Safety Act 2022 require comprehensive lifecycle documentation. The O Range is designed around this requirement: every commissioning step, configuration change and test event is logged with a timestamp, ready to be exported into the building’s Golden Thread record without a separate audit process.
The panel records all events on internal non-volatile memory. Reports can be exported via O Range Connect to PDF or CSV and handed straight to the Building Safety Regulator at Gateway 3.
Intelligent firefighter switches
Firefighter switches on the O Range remain inert until a confirmed smoke event — eliminating tampering and accidental activation. When the system enters smoke mode, switches become live and provide direct manual override at every floor level, with a clear status indication on the front face of the panel.
Installer-friendly: O Range Connect software
The free O Range Connect Windows app turns commissioning from a screwdriver-and-DIP-switch chore into a guided workflow. Configure zones, label devices, run end-to-end tests and export a full commissioning report — no proprietary tools, no field calibration jigs.
Engineer 2FA login ensures only authorised personnel can access system configuration, and every change is timestamped against the engineer’s identity for the Golden Thread record.
Designed for life-safety reliability
The O Range is built to operate when it matters most. Dual 12 V DC 7 Ah sealed lead-acid batteries deliver a minimum 72-hour standby followed by full 180 second load operation per BS EN 12101-10. Every detector, actuator and battery is continuously monitored; a fault on any device is flagged on the panel face and via the optional fault VFC outputs.
The panel supports up to four smoke detector inputs, two firefighter switches, four environmental sensor inputs (wind, rain, thermostat) and a 7 A motor output capable of driving multiple actuators per zone.
